Qucit sponsors the exhibition "Informatics and Digital Science"

Machines, algorithms, codes and data are in the spotlight for the new exhibition at the Palais de la découverte in Paris.

The new exhibition of the Palais de la Découverte “Informatics and Digital Science” is officially opened to the public since 13th March 2018. Qucit is proud to be a sponsor of this permanent space which proves the importance of information technology in the French and international scientific world.

On March 11,2018, Qucit was at the opening ceremony of the “Informatics and Digital Science” exhibition at the Palais de la Découverte in Paris, accompanied by eminent figures from the French digital and cultural scene, such as Mounir Mahjoubi (Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, in charge of Digital Science), Bruno Maquart, President of Universcience and Laurent Viennot (Director of Research at the Inria Center).

This is a first at the Palais de la Découverte: the Digital Sciences have their own space permanently dedicated. A space made up of different innovations. A space made up of different innovations  (robot, algograph, screen of all kinds, LEDs) and theoretical explanations that allow any type of audience to understand the digital sciences.

Pleased to be part of this unique space, Qucit has made available an interactive tactile media that allows you to try out the products developed and used by various Smart-City players.

The media consists of three applications:

  • RoadPredict: Improve highway safety by anticipating incidents and optimizing patrol routes! It was our customer Egis Exploitation Aquitaine, operator of the A63 motorway for Atlandes, who decided to participate to enable everyone to understand the usefulness of data and algorithms for everyone’s safety!

  • ComfortPredict Urbanism: this application allows everyone to discover the zones that the software predicts as comfortable on the Place de la Nation according to their profile. This is an innovation used by the City of Paris, which has lent itself to mediation. The artificial intelligence software behind this visualization combines data from the participant’s profile with all static (distance to the road, tree) and dynamic (weather, traffic) data to provide a comfort index.

  • ComfortPredict Station: Same for stations where, in this case, the participant can see the comfort zones in the Aix-en-Provence TGV station without having even put a foot in it! An experiment carried out last year in collaboration with SNCF Gares & Connexions, which also decided to make the results available to as many people as possible.

The Palais de la Découverte maintains its reputation as a mediation space and makes it possible for the greatest number of people to access all its new technologies! It is a real space of diffusion that allows all generations to understand these new technologies, which sometimes frighten and understand their usefulness in everyday life. It’s a real breakthrough, the science of digital technology is officially on the side of chemistry or astronomy! Finally, it is a playful space that will undoubtedly make it possible to create vocations for our youths!
