The Sítycleta bike-sharing system has been operated since 2018 by Sagulpa, the Municipal Parking Company of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, on behalf of the Mobility Department of the City Council. In the last 4 years, the bikes, supplied by Nextbike by Tier, have been used more than 870,000 times, which represents more than 309,000 hours of use!

2022 is the beginning of the partnership
between Sagulpa and Qucit!
In July 2022, the partnership between Sagulpa and Qucit began with more than 13,000 rebalancing operations performed by Sagulpa's teams on Qucit Bike, in only 6 months!
In 2022, 36,000 users rented the bikes in the 50 stations. That's more than 305,000 trips made!
Solution
An intuitive software based on Artificial Intelligence
Since July 2022, Sagulpa has used the Qucit Bike software stack to improve its operational efficiency. Qucit Bike consists of:
An intuitive mobile application for field operators that optimizes routes and tasks to be performed in real time;
A dashboard for the Operations Manager that allows them to track key productivity indicators, key system performance metrics and simplify the management of field operators.

"Before we started working with Qucit, it was difficult to know which stations were going to need urgent rebalancing and therefore to anticipate the actions to be taken. Also, before Qucit, regulators often went to the same station at the same time to perform the same task. Now, with Qucit Bike, each controller has a separate task to perform. Finally, Qucit allows us to respond quickly to the seasonal changes that our service faces, due to the tourist nature of our city.
Since using Qucit Bike, all the operators point out that they have been relieved of the pressure they often felt when they had to choose the station to go to on the map (with the 50 stations). In addition, the training phase went faster than expected, the tool proved to be very intuitive and they felt comfortable from the very first days. Once they got used to using it, there were no notable incidents.
We are still studying the results obtained (the high season started in October), but the performance of the summer months suggests very good expectations!"
