Focus on Bordeaux, France!
Our blog posts series presents the different cities with which Qucit has partnered to offer mobility system optimization solutions. Discover how our solutions contribute to improving urban mobility in these areas!
Described as the "pearl of Aquitaine", Bordeaux is a metropolis crossed by the Garonne River where it is good to cycle. With more than 1400 kilometers of cycle paths throughout its flat territory, Bordeaux metropolis is a delight for cyclists. The city also offers two services to promote cycling: a free long-term rental service for residents and a bike sharing system, the V3, available 24/7.
The V3 system currently has nearly 2,000 bikes (including 1,000 electric bikes) and 183 stations throughout the city. Cykleo, a Keolis supplier, has been operating this service since its creation in 2010. Since 2018, Qucit has been supplying Cykleo with the Qucit Bike Redistribution software, which helps the operator to optimise the tours for rebalancing and maintaining the stations. In addition, Qucit Bike User is used by Keolis, in charge of the customer relation with the users. Integrated into the TBM application and website as well as La Bonne Station application, this software predicts the bike demand up to 24 hours in advance and provides reliable information on the availability of the station to users who wish to borrow or drop off a vehicle.
In our next post, we will discover the bike culture in Tartu, Estonia!
