Focus on Raleigh, North Caroline, USA!
Our blog posts series presents the different cities with which Qucit has partnered to offer mobility system optimization solutions. Discover how our solutions contribute to improving urban mobility in these areas!
The “City of Oaks,” as Raleigh is known, is part of Research Triangle Park, a high-tech hub of biotech, pharmaceutical and medical companies. The development of the city was propelled in 1965, when the computer giant IBM settled in the hub. Thanks to this knowledge industry, Raleigh welcomes 12,000 new residents each year, making it one of the American cities with the strongest demographic growth. Environmental policy follows these technological advances: in 2019 the Raleigh City Council adopted a sustainable strategy which aims to reduce urban pollution by 80% by 2050. To achieve this ambitious goal, the City is developing its network of cycle paths which expanded from 6 km to 130 km in just ten years! Investments in micromobility are just as important: in 2019 the City got a modern and efficient bike share system, Cardinal Bikeshare!
Cardinal Bikeshare, Raleigh's bike share program, has 330 e-bikes and 30 docking stations. Its operator, BWG Field Ops, has been working with Qucit since 2020 to help the field team to manage their daily tasks. The Qucit Bike application optimizes the rebalancing of the stations, thus facilitating the operation and management of the system.
In our next post, we will discover the bike-share system in Summit County !
