Focus on Aspen!

Our blog posts series presents the different cities with which Qucit has partnered to offer mobility system optimization solutions. Discover how our solutions contribute to improving urban mobility in these areas!

Aspen, located in the mountains of Colorado, is famous for its stunning landscapes and commitment to environmental protection. It’s a popular destination for winter sports, but also for cycling, thanks to its extensive network of bike trails, including the remarkable 42 km Rio Grande Trail. The city provides users with access to 532 bikes across 90 stations, allowing visitors to explore the area at their own pace.

Since its launch in 2013, WE-CYCLE, under the auspices of the Roaring Fork Valley Transportation Authority, has been a pioneer in bike-sharing in the Roaring Fork Valley. Outside the major metropolises in North America, it’s the first bike-share system using solar-powered stations. It offers both e-bikes and mechanical bikes with the first 30 minutes free to encourage short trips and reduce carbon footprint. The e-bike charging stations operate off-grid, a first in the US, contributing to a healthier and greener transportation alternative.

In April 2024, WE-cycle was assisted in its field operations by Qucit Bike technology. This collaboration has improved the efficiency and fluidity of the bike-sharing system, offering a high-quality user experience while maintaining high service standards.
